The city boasts 2 major train station, manchester piccadilly and manchester victoria. it is also served by local & national bus & coach services, many of these services depart from the city's chorlton street bus station.

Manchester initially came to prominence during the Industrial Revolution, which is when it became the world leader in textile manufacture and production. the city is very proud of its industrial history and a number of the cotton mills that were used during the industrial era have been changed into offices and flats.

The city is also renowned for its commerce, science and technology. It has three universities and is well-known as the birthplace of the Baby computer, which changed the face of modern computing.

Even though the city retains many stunning Victorian buildings including manchester town hall and Central Library, it also has numerous prevailing buildings. many of these buildings were constructed after the city was hit by a terrorist bomb in 1996.

There are loads of activities to do in Manchester. From stunning green spaces to insightful museums, you cannot feel bored in this city.

One of the best museums in manchester is URBIS, which is the museum of urban life. The museum has countless permanent collections, as well as regular touring exhibits. recent exhibits have been on gardening and matthew williamson, the fashion designer.

Manchester is a great place for shopping fans with a vast variety of stores that cater to any taste. you'll find designer stores like office and armani on the city's vip King Street, as well as bigger department stores such as harvey nicks.

Manchester is well known for its history and it lures many revellers to its numerous nightclubs, inns and bars.

You can enjoy a sophisticated evening in one of Manchester's elite bars or even a cosy pint of cider in one of the city's rustic inns. Later, you'll find a wide variety of clubs to visit, so you can stay out until the early hours.

The city is also a fantastic place for live music lovers, as it has got several venues. These include the Night and Day and the roadhouse, which frequently by local and touring bands.

Manchester boasts branches of much massive hotel chains, so you will find some great places to stay. you will be able to pick from the likes of the Hilton, the malmaison and the Radisson, so you're guaranteed to have a superb stay in the city.

On the other hand, the city also boasts many b & bs and backpacker hostels, which are well suited to travellers on a budget.
